Scope and Contents
The Carleton family history and genealogical files date back to the 1600s and include a number of genealogical charts (1600s-1970s), prepared genealogical histories, and correspondence regarding the Wilson and Young family genealogies. In addition, there are genealogical volumes: Notes of Wilson Ancestry from Gown to Kittery, 1647, by Hannah D. Hutchinson (undated); “The English Ancestry of Edward Carleton of Rowley, Mass.,” in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register (1929), by Tracy Elliot; and a personal family history, A Memorial to Deacon Joseph Seldon, Prepared for and Accepted by the Church of Christ at Norfolk (1915), by Henry A. Bridgman, Howard W. Carter, and William F. Stearns.
