Four folders of printed material regarding the Bridgman Memorial Hospital in Johannesburg make up subseries 2. Specific material includes a published history of the hospital (1987), the 1961-62 annual report, two information brochures (1953, n.d.), and a paper, “Urban History and Health: Nurse Cowles and Alexandra Township 1926-1946,” written by Columbia University Professor, Marcia Wright, about Ruth Cordelia Cowles’ work at the Bridgman hospital and in the surrounding area.
