Scope and Contents
This folder consists of the single issue of Asia News, published in 1977. Asia News was a single-edition journal published in newspaper format by the Oberlin College Asian American Alliance. It was designed to further unity and cohesion inside and outside the Asian and Asian American community.
Presented as a source of news, Asia News focuses on Oberlin's internal politics. The publication includes in-person interviews with President Emil C. Danenberg, Carl Bewig, and Peter Storandt about Oberlin's anti-racism policies in admissions and academic programs. The publication dedicates most of its content to the controversial Bakke decision politically occupying Oberlin at the time.
