The Black Oak, 1990
Scope and Contents
A single-edition student anarchist journal published by the Oberlin Anarchist Collective in 1990, featuring political articles, poetry, visual art, and biographies of anarchists of history. The Black Oak contains articles focused on current events at and outside of Oberlin. It condemns Oberlin's history as an international institution and endorses anarchist organizations. Articles include topics such as: atheism, flag burning, the Oberlin arch ("Arch of the Martyred Racists"), an introduction to anarchism, and the non-cooperation movement. Student poetry on women's work, the Haymarket Square riots, revolution, and body agency bookends the publication.
