From the Series:
Consists of letters written by young missionaries to India. The majority of these letters were written by a young missionary named Mary Burgess to her parents who lived in Millbrook, Connecticut. Mary Burgess died of Cholera in 1842, and her husband Edwin died two years later. These letters were given to Mary Burton Shurtleff after their deaths. Mary Burgess is thought by some members of the Jones Family to be the aunt of Mary Shurtleff.
