List of Trips, George T. Jones, 1898-1971
Scope and Contents
The Summer Ecology Trips material consists of detailed written accounts of the trips, (1915, 1919-1926, 1928) in which George Jones participated with his father, Lynds Jones. The information provided in these written accounts was taken from diaries, letters and the strong personal recollections of George Jones himself. Photographs of these trips are also included in each of the individual written accounts. Also included are the planning papers, related correspondence, and notebooks of Mary Burwell Jones’ notebooks. Notecards with attached photographs document field work by student Eleanor Johnson during an Ecology Trip in 1926. A set of 36 photographs by George Jones, previously in frames with notations on the backs, cover several Ecology Trips in the summers of 1921-26.
