Arrangement Note

Arranged in date order. See Inventory.

Arrangement

Maps are organized in box 1 (a tall legal box) or in flat files and roll boxes (oversize). The maps in box 1 are organized in alphabetical order, first in short folders and subsequently in tall folders.

The oversize maps are stored in flat files or roll boxes. These maps are arranged in chronological order unless otherwise indicated.

Method of Acquisition

The bulk of the collection was transferred to the Archives from Special Collections.

Some maps on this inventory come from other record groups, as indicated. Not all maps are listed here, however. For example, the Shansi (OSMA) record group holds extensive maps, and they are only listed in the finding guide for that group.
