Scope and Contents
The Sparkle newsletter papers contain newsletters, a historical file, correspondence, miscellaneous materials, and photographs. The bulk of the material consists of the newsletters. Dating between 1954 and 1999, these newsletters are composed of letters written by the subscribers as well as selected newspaper clippings and comments.

Administrative History
Sparkle is the newsletter of a “round robin” group of women of kindred spirits during the years 1952-1999. It is composed of letters solicited by Elizabeth Blakesley who edited and published the material and sent it to the members: Elizabeth Blakesley, Josephine Cowin-Gilbert, Mary Lou Brasseur-Dixon, Gertrude Dillingham, Lois Gilbert, Pat Leimbach, Miriam Kennedy, Helen Huntington Smith, Dorothy Teare, Josephine Van Meter, Charlotte Dudley-Wells, and Doris Blakesley Woods.
