Scope and Contents From the Series: The correspondence is divided into four subseries: 1. Calendared Correspondence, 2. Incoming Letters (not calendared), 3. Miscellaneous Family Letters, and 4. Select Letters in the R.B. Hayes Library. Subseries 1 consists of primarily incoming correspondence, 1850-1921, described in Victor V. Lytle’s seven-volume calendar and index (1953-54).
