This institutional collection consists of records of the Department of English from 1922 through 1996. It has been divided into four subgroups.

Scope and Contents The Dewey Ganzel papers are a collection of records that primarily document his time as faculty member at Oberlin College with course materials, gradebooks, and lectures. Ganzel worked closely with Oberlin College Professor of English Robert Longsworth, especially with the growth of the English department, and also collaborated with Professor of History Geoffrey Blodgett, which is documented in the correspondence series. This collection documents the professional activities of Norman S. Care from 1959 until 2000. This extends from the year Care received his bachelor's degree through his many decades as a professor, primarily at Oberlin College.

Scope and Contents The Robert Weinstock papers, which heavily focus on Weinstock's scholarly activity outside the classroom, largely consist of his correspondence with colleagues and with the editors of various physics journals. Weinstock regularly reviewed books, instructional texts and manuscripts submitted for publication in the American Journal of Physics, and his own work was published recurrently in several prominent physics journals. The William H. Fuchsman Papers are arranged in three series: 1. Awards; 2. Committee and Program Files; and 3. Course Materials. Certain files are restricted in Series 2 and 3. The Papers reflect Professor Fuchsman’s leadership in programs related to science and interdisciplinary education, and his courses in chemistry at Oberlin College.
