Scope and Contents

The materials in the Arthur Ludwig and Arthur Ewing Princehorn Collection span ca. 1900 through 2014. The collection primarily consists of photographic prints and negatives taken by Arthur Ludwig or Arthur Ewing Princehorn.

Series five consists of a small collections of objects, including cameras used by the Princehorns and a plaque.

The Charles Sutphin Papers is a small collection that primarily reflects Pendleton’s years at Oberlin College, from 1897 to 1903. The materials provide insight into student life at the time, including athletics, exhibitions, concerts, social life, the college’s Mock Convention, commencement, and the inauguration of President Henry Churchill King. The collection holds very little correspondence.

Scope and Contents This is a small collection of materials gathered by Charlotte Briggs during her time as a student at Oberlin College. The materials document student involvement in campus opposition to the Solomon Amendment. At least three students, including Briggs, left the college publicly to protest the amendment. Scope and Contents The materials of Douglas T. Ross comprise of correspondence, diagrams, programs, clippings, and several scrapbooks. The bulk of the material is made up of scrapbook pages and clippings. The most significant materials are the clippings in Series 3. Michael Hoffman Papers consist primarily of correspondence and photographs taken by Hoffman while he was in Japan and Manchuria with the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) from 1918 to 1920. Hoffman served in Yokohama, Japan, from November 1918 until February 1919, and then in Harbin, Manchuria until March 1920.
