The papers of William Gay Ballantine, consisting primarily of Ballantine family papers (1750-1913), provide no documentation of Ballantine's tenure as President of Oberlin College (1891-1896). The papers of William H. Seaman document his service to Oberlin College as first Director of Admissions (1928-48) through his talks and writings in which he addressed admission policies and life at Oberlin, gave welcoming remarks and encouragement to incoming freshmen, and provided insight to college life in general. The papers of William Willis Curtis consist mainly of diaries, notebooks, and correspondence. The diaries and notebooks contain a partial record of events, accounts, and miscellany of which most was kept during the period in Japan, mainly Osaka, Sendai, and Sapporo. Yeaton Family Papers

The papers consist in large part of notes taken and lectures given by all three Yeatons, but also of correspondence (1902-56), genealogical information, estate papers, family miscellany, photographs (mostly of Ethel M. Kitch), and a few student papers. Five letters from missionary M. Portia Mickey, class of 1912, during the late 1930s and 1940s, are included in Marie Johnson Yeaton’s correspondence.
