This collection consists of the records of the Oberlin College African American Studies Department. It has been divided into three record series: Administrative Files, Student Papers, and Special Events.

Scope and Contents Records relating to the department of philosophy contain annual reports, correspondence, agendas and meeting minutes, files of the Oberlin Colloquium in Philosophy, and student-related academic files. Scope and Contents The records of the Department of Education, 1909(1958-1978)-1979, mainly document the department's administrative activities during its final twenty years of operation, especially its training and evaluation of student teachers. Scope and Contents The records of the Allen Memorial Art Museum date from 1899 to the present. A significant portion of the collection consists of correspondence files of the directors and curators, spanning the years from 1919 to 1991. The correspondence deals with various issues pertaining to acquiring, lending, and borrowing works of art. Extensive files also document exhibits from 1919 to 1987.
