Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the records of the Oberlin College Department of Anthrolpology. The records are arranged into eight series. They include materials related to the repatriation of indigenous materials, department exhibitions, administrative files, annual reports, details of the curriculum, and information related to the history of the department.

Scope and Contents The records of the Allen Memorial Art Museum date from 1899 to the present. A significant portion of the collection consists of correspondence files of the directors and curators, spanning the years from 1919 to 1991. The correspondence deals with various issues pertaining to acquiring, lending, and borrowing works of art. Extensive files also document exhibits from 1919 to 1987.
