Scope and Contents

This record group consists of publications and printed materials related to student life. This includes committee and organization handbooks, dance programs, programs, and course evaluations. The record group has been arranged in three series.

Scope and Contents These records document the mock political conventions held at Oberlin College from 1860 to 1968. This quadrennial event was an Oberlin tradition that many alumni regarded as a highlight of their student experience. There were twenty-seven mock political conventions held at Oberlin. Scope and Contents Although Gilbert and Sullivan operettas have been produced at Oberlin at least since the 1930s, the Oberlin Gilbert and Sullivan Players, as a group, was formed in 1949. The first production, The Pirates of Penzance, took place in 1950. The bulk of records cover the period 1949-1990. This collection has been divided into two subgroups: papers and audio recordings. The papers subgroup includes four series. It includes adminstrative information about WOBC and program guides. There is a small group of non-textual materials, including photographs. The audio recordings subgroup consists mostly of reel-to-reel tapes from the 1960s through 1990s.

Scope and Contents The Student Notes collection comprises selected materials produced by students for courses at Oberlin College. The material types include loose notes, notebooks, diaries, examination books, syllabi, maps, handouts, and a chart of world history (oversize).
