Scope and Contents

The diaries in this collection are those not associated with any personal paper groups; they date from 1844 through 1937. Diaries not with papers can also be found in the Oberlin File, RG 21. Two diarists also assembled scrapbooks; these materials are all stored with scrapbooks in RG 19/4/3, as noted on the inventory.

Method of Acquisition

Most of the diaries were transferred from the Library. Four diaries were given directly to the Archives after 1976.
