Yasuzo Shimizu Papers

Abstract

The Shimizu Papers is a small collection of printed textual materials, most of which are in Japanese. The latter have not yet been evaluated by a Japanese speaker. The English materials comprise two items: a booklet written by Yasuzo Shimizu in 1951, and an article by the former archivist at Oberlin College published in 2005.

Yeaton Family Papers

Scope and Contents

The papers consist in large part of notes taken and lectures given by all three Yeatons, but also of correspondence (1902-56), genealogical information, estate papers, family miscellany, photographs (mostly of Ethel M. Kitch), and a few student papers. Five letters from missionary M. Portia Mickey, class of 1912, during the late 1930s and 1940s, are included in Marie Johnson Yeaton’s correspondence.

YMCA and YWCA Records

Scope and Contents The records of the Young Men's and Young Women's Christian Associations of Oberlin College consist of annual reports, minutes, correspondence, scrapbooks, cloth maps, and printed materials documenting the organizations' governance and programs. The cloth maps (1863-96), which predate the 1881 formation of the YMCA, were given to the YMCA by an unknown donor.  The earliest textual records are printed pamphlets (1885).
