Scope and Contents

The Oberlin College Department of Geology collection consists of annual reports, field notes, maps, and glass plate and film negatives. In addition, a brief history of the department written by Professor Steven Wojtal, is included in the collection.

The records of the Experimental College are limited to a small amount of administrative files, course catalogs, course evaluations, videotapes and slides.  The records are arranged in the following four series: Series 1. Administrative Files; Series 2. Course Catalogs; Series 3. Course Evaluations (Restricted); and Series 4. Non-Textual Materials.

Scope and Contents The records of the Oberlin College Library cover the years 1815-1890. These historical materials provide proof of the work of five distinguished College Librarians, spanning a century, but they also document the role Oberlin played over time in developing librarianship in a small college liberal arts setting.
