Sparkle Newsletter Papers

Scope and Contents

The Sparkle newsletter papers contain newsletters, a historical file, correspondence, miscellaneous materials, and photographs. The bulk of the material consists of the newsletters. Spaulding Manuscript Collection

Stanley B. Harkness Papers

Scope and Contents

The papers of Stanley Harkness deal mainly with the works of Samuel Butler and consist of manuscripts written by Harkness, reviews of Butler’s works and writings about him, and other types of criticism. Aside from a short obituary, the collection gives no information about the life of Stanley Harkness, save his overwhelming interest in Samuel Butler.

Scope and Contents The ten autograph albums in this collection are those not associated with a personal paper group; they date from the mid- to late nineteenth century. Some of the albums were kept for a long period of the owners’ lives, chronicling the persons that were of most influence for the owners.
